Matcha Scoop
The Chashaku or tea scoop is used in the Japanese tea ceremony and is often crafted from simple bamboo. For this matcha scoop we carried the bamboo theme by selecting a piece from a neighbors garden for the handle and charring it to create a deep black color. The scoop is hot forged from brass with a brazed handle stop. We balanced the black and gold with a wrap of red paper string to add a touch of color and tie in our cardinal.
