Nickel Bowl
The nickel silver we used for this bowl is beautiful but very delicate to work with. We anneal it first to make it soft, then hammer just to the point it's going to crack then anneal again. There are no visual signs to know that point, it's a feeling of how the material reacts under your hammer that gauges when to stop. In the end the difficulty is worth it for the wonderful silver color and resistance to acidic foods. We left this one unpolished for a beautiful natural patina.
